Subject: The Crow Date: Sat, 21 May 94 22:38:20 -0700 From: li@inigo I wrote this an hour before I saw the movie. Go out and see the movie. There are no spoilers here. It's a good movie on the level of myth and comicbooks, which, I'll admit, seems to be the most acceptable level for myths in this day and age. Date: Sat, 21 May 94 18:46:26 -0700 It was May, the sun was shining, as it is today... A friend of mine came from the East Coast and a good friend of his came over and they told me that they were going to visit the grave of Bruce Lee for kicks, for fun, and to pay their respects as it was in Mondo 2000's map of Seattle. We all wore black. Most of us also wore Black Leather, and all three of us were Asian. We larked through the park that surrounds the graveyard, but... eventhough it was supposed to be only semi-serious, we all fell silent as we walked into the gates... The grass around Lee's grave is changed every four months because so many people go by there. The gravestone is polished red granite and it was covered with flowers, pink boxes for cakes, an American flag, a baseball cap. It had been his birthday two days before. While I was shooting shots of the two of them in their leather and shades around the grave... I realized, at one point, that I was standing on Brandon's grave. Simple stone, set in the earth, next to his father's... There was a shaman's knot/bead strand on it, and, instead of an eagle feather, there was the feather of a crow. I had thought it weird at that time... But I stopped and mourned for a while, and paid my respects. I guess this is his ressurection, for a small while, for me. Anyway... We're also going to see The Crow tonight. Hope it lives up to it all. Liralen ------- End of Forwarded Message
